Singapore leads in business friendliness

Singapore has been named the most business-friendly city in ASEAN and placed sixth globally in the National City Index.

The report evaluated cities based on key factors such as business and investment climate, culture and heritage and 45 other specific attributes. The rankings were compiled from insights gathered from 15,000 respondents across 20 countries.

Singapore excelled in the “business and investment” category, ranking third worldwide. It claimed the top position for “ease of doing business” and “suitability for entrepreneurship and innovation.” The city-state ranked fifth globally in the “safety” category for its low crime rates and minimal terrorism risks.

Economic stability also contributed to Singapore’s high ranking. The country placed sixth in the “strong and stable economy” attribute, reflecting its ability to weather global economic challenges while maintaining strong fundamentals.

Globally, London topped the National City Index, followed by New York, Paris, Tokyo and Dubai, with Singapore closely trailing in sixth place.
